[ Step I ] First, you need to register a domain name. The domain name is the address that people will use to reach your Website on the Internet. For example: yourcompany.com. Ideally, your domain name should be short and easy to remember. You can choose to register your company name or a few words describing the type of products and/or services that your company offers. There are several extensions available for domain registration: dot-com (.com), dot-ca (.ca), dot-net (.net), dot-org (.org), dot-biz (.biz), dot-info (.info), dot-cc (.cc) and dot-tv (.tv). Register your domain name by [clicking here] Many companies register all extensions of their domain name to prevent other parties from registering the available extensions and generating traffic on their own Websites using your visibility and reputation. Domain name cost is very low and registering your name properly will help you avoid potential problems in the future. If you have already registered your domain name with Aztus or another provider, please proceed to Step II - Ordering Your Hosting Plan. [ Step II ] Once you have registered your domain name, you must select a Web hosting plan in order to install the files comprising your Website on a Web server so that people may access your site via the Internet. In essence, this means that you rent disk space on our Web servers where your Website will be installed. Our hosting plans also provide you with the opportunity to configure personalized email accounts (@yourdomainname.com), which ensures a more professional image than the generic email addresses provided by your Internet service provider. There are several hosting packages available at Aztus, with each plan offering a different amount of disk space. Your plan should be chosen according to the amount of disk space required (in megs). For example: if your Website requires less than 2048 megs total, the PLESK-201 package would be perfect. A second factor to consider when choosing a hosting plan is the number of email boxes (accounts) that you need. The third factor to consider is the type of functionality that you need. If you require your own cgi-bin directory, for example, you would need to order the Web-301 plan or up if you choose our WEB infrastructure. We suggest that you ask your Website designer to provide you with the functionality required from your hosting plan. [ Step III ] Once your domain name has been registered and your hosting plan has been ordered, you will receive an email with all the information you need to install your site on our Web servers and manage your hosting plan. If you registered your domain name with another service provider, you will have to change the DNS information to point the domain on our servers. Once the DNS configuration has been modified, your hosting plan will become functional on our servers. This process will be explained to you in the aforementioned email.
